Simon T’s tribute build. 3 years on.

Well it’s been 3 years since we did this tribute build GB for Simon, and if anyone remembers I built a 1/24 Beatle for it, and put it into a terrarium. So I thought I’d show you what it looks like now. 3 years on. Some photos outside and then some inside.

WOW Ian has it really been 3 yrs since Simon passed wow it dont seem long ago that i was talkin to him as he said he thought i was dylixic as my words came out wrong an i really enjoy his rather dissattress build of that girl an the crazy wabbit that kept fallin to bits an it had me in stiches as no matter what he did as i thought at one point it looked really good then he had more probs on that build an i often have a read of that built to cheer me up as its in my favs section but miss him greatly as we have lost a lot of really good talent off the forum in recent yrs

Simon would love that, Ian. He loved anything quirky and different. Three years - he was my friend and I still miss him.

That looks great Ian. Well developed now isn’t it. I still miss him as well. His optimism and enthusiasm were second to none. The worse the kit was the more he seemed to revel in it. Remember the effort he put into trying to get a decent finish on that vinyl shell kit he had :upside:

          Lovely 'Build' Ian.

What a great guy Simon was. I well remember all the great Tribute scratch builds the members made for him as a memorial to his own artistic scratchery.

Sadly missed, but remembered with fondness.......

            3 years eh?:astonished:...
.... Where does the time go!
I also count Simon as a friend,we swapped many a message and indeed books/kits.I still have a bunch of Vickers MGs that he cast for me and a natty "gizmo" that he also cast as an aid for getting stubborn Vallejo tops off.
Certainly sorely missed, one of the world's "Good Guys".

That time for us certainly has passed quickly by. He was certainly a character that is still missed.
That really looks the business Ian, I’m sure he would whole heartedly approve.

Thats a proper barn find Ian , I reckon a good mechanic could get it running again no probs !!:smiling5: What a fantastic tribute to Simon three years down the line, he would have loved the way the build is slowly evolving. Missed by all but remembered with fondness:thumb2:

I too remember the adventures of Miss Julie and that Mad Hare in her backpack. Mr. T was very inspirational to all he came into contact with and I always valued his input......doesn't seem like three years has passed already.

This has developed really well. I've seen a few real examples of cars like this in the real world. Brilliant.
