Which Acrylic paint for Red Oxide Primer colour?

    Quick question here:

What Arcylic paint - Tamiya, Vallejo etc gives a good colour match for red oxide primer?

Can't find a decent colour for it. Thanking in advance!

    Howdy Alan,

I found this link thru a google search: 4D modelshop Ltd Shop - Primers

    it showed this info:

    Hycote Acrylic Red oxide 150ml

    Reference: FP20006

    Hycote brand

I also found this info, but since I dont have much experience with humbrol paints, not sure if it is acrylic or enamel, but here it is:

humbrol red brown 70 + matt scarlet 60= red oxide

    hope this helps,

    Greg

      Thanks,

I didn't realise you could get Acrylic Based Red Oxide Primer! I'll have to pick some up and see how it works out.

          Hycote Acrylic primer

          Hello Alan.

I use the Hycote range of paints they are all Acrylic and the primers are excellent.

The red oxide is a good match IMHO, they also do a primer filler, a sort of yellow colour, this stuff is brill at covering anthing that has minor blemishes in the surface just let it dry between coats and sand off. ( Just wear a mask with this one though ) as always.

All made for the motor trade and available in spray cans of different sizes etc.

As Mankster says Halfords are good too.

          :regards: Sub
