You have my full sympathy Bob. Having just gone through it I know waiting for the inevitable is truly horrendous. Yours, however, must be immeasurably worse because of the extended timescale involved. I hope you have the best Xmas you can under the circumstances and that Santa is kind to you.

Thanks Tim, what has shocked me is how quick the dementia has started. Some days it's hard to have a chat others not so bad.

The hospital has been very good but one nurse, Caz stands out. She's fantastic, kind with wonderful humanity. She had mum and the others making decorations, the same ones I made in primary school. Did mum's nails even reads magazines to mum and the other ladies. A truly wonderful person. I gave her a card with money inside, I am going to write to the chief executive to praise her. A outstanding lady

Some nurses are just special Bob. Sue, my wife, was a dementia specialist when she worked in the trust, two of my cousins are (or were) ward sisters, as is another cousin’s daughter. I’ve never seen a body of people work so hard as those in the caring professions. They certainly deserve more money and recognition than they get, especially from the mainstream media and ruling politicians.

Hi Tim, I totally agree. They should get politicians to do a shift.

Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.
