My 1/16 T-72 RC tank is a part work. I bought it cheap from a guy who had built it but fried the electrics. He paid £600 or something like that, I got it for £120. I was not a fan of it structurally. Cheap plastic, screwed parts that were prone to screw stress and snapped. £1400 would be a big no for me.
Got started on the Cutty Sark a few decades ago, got the hull skeleton, a couple of cannons and then they went bust... If tempted again to build a frame and plank sailing ship will go for a Billings or similar...
Having bought the earlier 1/32 Lanc partwork, which was seriously multi-media (wood, plastic, metal and rubber), my advice to anyone thinking of getting this:
Subscribe direct.
Do NOT rely on a newsagent, as magazine distribution in the UK relies on a single distributor. And they are RUBBISH
I work for a major high-street magazine, book and stationary retailer, (guess WHsO) who actually OWN the distributor, and WE can't get stuff regularly or reliably
