I watched the video out of curiosity and what struct me was the comment at the end regarding surprises this year. I am sure that they have held off the news of the good stuff, a 48 scale FAA Phantom perhaps????

Without that last comment these releases would have been a real disappointment, not that I had any great expectation anyway as they won’t produce in 1/32.

Airfix given up on 1/350 ships, just two very old 1/600 golden oldies.

No doubt the cost of tooling is a big factor but, all those RN ships

      New KGV, Renown, Vanguard, Nelson

Ah never mind! The wait goes on and on

Mmmm, the lifeboat looks interesting. Make a nice diorama with a Sea King HAR3!!

Umm doesn't the Severn Class Lifeboat date back to 2007? - I've got one in the stash!

A 1/48 Bristol Bulldog!? Who'd have predicted a 1/48 Silver Wings? My genre but not my scale. But I would buy a 1/48 Hart...
Hmm. Is the Fury going to reappear?

Now, what I WANT is a Fairey Fox (so I don't HAVE to build my Pegasus one), or an Armstrong-Whitworth Atlas
I'm not fussy, either would be nice

But I've as much chance of Airfix doing THEM as I have of Italeri doing an accurate CANT Z.1007...

It’s a bit of a mixed bag, I’m surprised they have gone for another lifeboat.

Be interesting to see what the surprises will be as the year winds on.

You have to hand it to Airfix though, they are the only manufacturer I can think of that’s making a sustained effort to bring new/young people into the hobby with all the new tooled starter kits and easy build kits they keep releasing

              Geoff.

My copy of this months Airfix Model World arrived today with a feature on Airfix’s new Chinook HC1. I was curious to read about there being a “lowered/raised undercarriage” option! I often found myself wondering where the landing gear selector lever was in a Chinook cockpit when doing brakes on a move. Click image for larger version

P.s. The landing gear is fixed on the Chinook.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Does anybody remember the rather lovely Tamiya series of Samurai/Ronin? (1/32?)

I’ve got those, bought them ages ago with the intention of building them, but both sets have been sitting unbuilt in my stash ever since …

Now I think about, I think I've had those sets at least twice and re-sold them

Ooh, I've just had a weird flash. Airfix doing soft plastic 1/32 samurai...

Never been flashed by a Samurai to the best of my knowledge ...
