I'm going to wait until they say it's officially rolled out. I had the same screen page as yourself Mike. I figured it was because it couldn't link to my personal .gov account so it gave a 'null' readout.
I've survived this long without one I don't see it as overly important to me personally. No med issues so no need for queue jumping (YET). I'm patient, I'll wait. I kept losing my service ID anyway!!!!! :smiling2: :smiling2: :smiling2:

True, I can wait, I waited for over two decades to discover I in fact suffered from PTSD and was not the grumpy git I thought I was, even the anger management course people refused to have me on the course after I threw their annoying alarm clock out the window, tick, tick ** tick.... (yes I did open the window).
I am not really worried about proving I served, a couple have realised their mistake in calling me a liar, amazing what memories return when putting in a set of teeth in the morning.
And when asked what I did I always reply, as little as possible, just ask the NAAFI girls....

Same, a few I have worked with were overheard gobbing off about my 'tall' tales being cobblers. So!! Prior to a shift start I sat them all down and made them watch a short video with Moi staring!! That closed down the back stabbing. Not my fault if the closest they had come to excitement was getting their comb stuck in their hair!!
As for what I did. Common knowledge us Fleet Air Arm types are laid back sun gods and the clicky sun bed was invited by the FAA!! I simply quoted Military Flying Regs, which stated 'ALL aircrew are to get 8 hours uninterrupted sleep a day'. To which I added; 'and anything they got at night was a bonus'!!!!

We dreamt of eight hours sleep - that's two days worth at least!

It wasn't all my choice - the Magistrate had a big say in my future as I recall ...

                GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!
Just had an email from .gov inviting me to apply for an ID card - and you can forget it....
Started the performance of do I have this or do I have that or can I jump through hoops, roll over and play dead - when we got to the part where I then had to go join something.gov, download the app from google play store, scan this code, turn around three times with my fingers up my nose.... You can keep it. Do wokes really think that all people have their phones surgically attached to their heads and that we all squint at the screen all day long just to see how popular they are on the interweb. Well I for one do not use the internet on my phone.... And am very happy not to, getting texts that you do not ask for or want is bad enough.
I served my country in some of the s'holes on this planet, got abused, had p'pots emptied over me, spit on by women and kids, had stones and molotov cocktails thrown at me, and all in the name of religion or because we were not wanted there. And now as I read over the years, these same countries holding out their hands for financial aid and benefits from the very same person they abused via my taxes. I do not need any more ID, the mental and physical scares are enough ID.

Used to live in a ditch or under a hedge 3 or 4 days at a time, cat napping, no luxuries like a tiolet or even a carrier bag to use, you did it where you lay and worked it out with your hand, then had to remember which hand it was when eating... And when you got back no one would come near you for about 2 days, even after three showers and a block of hard soap....

I haven’t even got to the apply to apply for the ID. If it’s that difficult - stuff it!
I’m registered as a veteran at my local doctors - that’s enough for me.
Hoops??? I’m not a dog on an agility course!!

I have this problem with authority, brought on by authority, that is why I rebel against authority.... They even gave up sending me tax forms to fill in, have you ever tried to open out a screwed up and flattened tax return - they just sent me the money.

Older than Methuselah I recall and uglier than a Gorgon - and he was certainly no candidate for a Vermeer! :tears-of-joy:

''Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Rt Hon. Johnny Mercer MP shared:
...... Veteran cards provide ex-service men and women with a tangible connection to the important contributions they have made to the defence of our nation''

                            see below
Thousands more veterans will receive HM Armed Forces Veteran Cards by the end of the year thanks to a £3 million injection to expand the roll-out to veterans who left service before 2018.

                            Anyhow..
I like many others applied for this, and It turned up this morning.
