Modern keyboards are not as well designed as the original IBM AT mechanical keyboards, where the keys were two part plastic , so no ''decals'' or thin paint to remove.
You can still buy modern versions of the IBM Model M (the gold standard in keyboards, pretty much) but with a USB plug so they fit any modern computer. Your neighbours might not like you using one, though
There are also the cheap as chips Chinese "gamer" keypads. They have lights in. I have a slightly more expensive one that just has white led lighting so the letters are lit up.
