      BAC 'Eagles': Gr1 12 Sqn 1986; FR3 29 Sqn Operation Granby 1990
Calling it an 'Eagle' seems to come entirely from the book 'Lost Tomorrows of an eagle' from 2009

I've built a few "What-ifs" over the years.

"Viggen-style" TSR2 Conversion to Naval Aircraft:

RNLI Lifeboat converted to RN launch:

        TSR2 & Angel Interceptor "Mistel":

        Angel Interceptor "Zwilling":

Upgraded "King Tiger" in British Army service:

        QE2 converted to "Harrier Carrier":

        Four-seat, six-wheel Beach Buggy:

        Lady Penelope-inspired Six-wheel Beach Buggy:

The 'what ifs' look great, but the same applies to armour. Yes I get reference photos when I can but, a photo is only relevant the time the photo is taken, who's to say in didn't go into the workshop the following day and have a new paint job, come across a wrecked tank with a bigger MG, plenty of ammo I'll have that. Whilst I can understand modelers who want to go to the Nth degree, just enjoy it.
The King Tiger in British colours, hummm, what would of been the outcome. Lid coming off the can of worms...lol.

I do like the Spectrum 'Mistel.' And the right sort of colours too. Though just when that would be used...
Of course, like the TSR2 in the Stratos-4 anime, as an anti-Mysteron-meteor weapon!
I wish now I had a picture, though, of my late friend's Concorde in Air Terrainean (Fireflash) colours and markings!

How about a Hercules all over green, a la Thunderbird 2. Or a Gazelle in blue-grey and red as TB1. International Rescue used to be a real world organisation, back in the 'eighties. Do they still operate?

Yeah, the King Tiger in 'British' colours, post war I assume? I don't recognise the scheme other than Middle-East maybe. Maybe one day someone will do one of the (real!) French Panthers on here!

Oh yeah, those six-wheeler beach buggies are hilarious!

The King Tiger "What-if" story is:

Relations between the Allied forces deteriorated quite markedly in 1945 and following the surrender of Germany, there was an urgent need for bigger, more protected, tanks to face up to the Soviet armour. Although there were developments taking place in British factories, British tank experts pored over the remains of the Henschel & Sohn works at Mittenfeld they discovered that Henschel had been developing improvements for the King Tiger. These included better steering with improved torque, a supercharged version of the Maybach engine and a new gearbox. It was decided that the King Tiger with these improvements should be put into production bearing in mind the urgency of meeting the threat of Soviet armour. The gun would be replaced with the 20-pdr that was to have been used in the A45/FV201.

Incomplete King Tigers were shipped to the UK, along with machine tools, drawings etc and within six months the first British King Tiger - now called the "Chevron" rolled off the production line. It was not a great success more in part because of poor British workmanship than the design and it frequently broke down. However, within a further twelve months the wrinkles were ironed out and it gave sterling service for many years in various guises including Bridge-Layer, Recovery, Bulldozer some were also used for weapons trials

This build was a "weapon trials" Chevron based at the Fighting Vehicle Research & Development Establishment (FVRDE) at Chertsey, Surrey. It is equipped with a 120mm L11 gun as eventually used on the Chieftain.

Ive always dabbled with the idea of making a Corncorde as a what if RAF strategic nuclear bomber. With some nuke slung underneath.

It’s been my intention to build one of those for years, but there’s so much else I want to do as well, and then other stuff keeps getting between that too …

I’ve been sidetracked by a Nike that’s more of a Herculean task than expected

Me too. the series is a bit. . . . . .saucy shall we say! I was a bit surprised Airfix went with it.

In the second series they used MiG 31 as meteor sweepers, I have an ICM kit for just that purpose, Also and A Model Yak 27 which in the anime where used as prone pilot crew trainers

I considered a Concorde kit built as and RAF strategic spyplane like SR71

I've got the Stratos 4 boxing of the TSR2, with extra pilot figures. Somewhere I've a magazine article on building the launch vehicle
Fortunately, I got mine from a, now defunct, model shop a week before a group of Japanese tourists cleared the other half-dozen boxes!

BTW it is, of course, pronounced Stratos Vier...

                                Yes, do it!
Interesting many French sources now refuse to acknowledge they had an operational regiment of Panthers!
