    courtesy car

I picked up my new car on Friday, but so I didn’t have to tax my old car for 1 day I took it in the day before, they gave me a courtesy car, a £120k Porsche Taycan GTS 0-60 in 2.8 seconds unfortunately I didn’t get chance to try that but what a car to drive.

I haven't driven a Porsche since 1982, when I drove a 911 for a Munich radio station (it's a long story). I wasn't impressed, but I understand they've improved a lot since then. Must try to get a test drive while I still can.

Oh the rewards for hard work!

Never happen to me of course. I was born bone idle and I've been like it ever since!

I got my hands on a couple of brand new Porsches many years ago. I was working at a filling station owned by a Porsche dealership. They had a customer wanting a test drive in a 928 so I was asked if I'd like to take a 911 down to the Porsche centre in Reading and bring back a 928. I was in my mid twenties then so I nearly broke the salesman's fingers snatching the keys from him.

Gotta say I was disappointed with the 911. It was a manual and the clutch spring was so tight I almost had to press my left foot with my hand to get it to the floor. The 928 was an automatic though and an absolute dream to drive.

                      Interesting number plate John (jon)!

in Guernsey we do not have letters on our reg numbers and I recall number 911 selling for over£20kin the 1980's, obviously by a Porche owner.
