    Hail

We have just had a hail storm, it only lasted 10 minutes though.
Here is what fell out of the heavens, hand in the picture for size reference, about 20mm.

Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

Rather you than me. Hailstones like that could do some damage, certainly give you a nasty headache if caught outside.

Fortunately we didn't have any damage.

Haha I had to go out in it to gather the hailstones under orders from SWMBO, but wore a hat which deflected the hail.

We used to have hail storms like that I Johannesburg on a regular basis. You can imagine, as a body/paint shop owner, that we profited out of other people's misery.
The worst hailstone I ever saw went through the rear hatch glass, parcel shelf and dented the boot floor through the carpet on a Mazda 323.

Yes, I am very aware of the Johannesburg thunderstorms, my brother lives in Vereeniging.

Mine used to wrap my sandwiches up in road maps, but I got around that - I bought a satnav, and now carry my sandwiches under my hat.... you cannot fool me!!!
