    Edit function?

I noticed this morning that the edit function is no longer available.

Up until recently members were allowed a couple of days grace to alter things.

Is it my computer or has the function been permanently removed?

Try now? I just edited something and it seemed to work fine.

Just tried, but there is still no edit function.

It's usually down on the bottom left of a post between 'Report * Bookmark' but it's not there. I guess it's summat to do with my computer.

I'll let the wife loose on it, as all I know is how to switch the thing on! :upside:

        Thank you to the 'testers'!

It's missing on mine too! Just checked a couple of earlier posts and - edit - Gone!!! Even gone on threads I started!!
If it doesn't return I really am going to have to concentrate on my grammar!!!!!

I think there must be a time frame with this edit flaw!! This is my most recent post and it's the only one that has shown the report/edit/delete/bookmark choices.

Even tried signing out and back in to see if that changed anything! Nothing!

Just out of interest Ron aka spanner570 , what browser are you using? I use Safari. Just wondering if it affects all browsers or selective browsing windows!!

I think it expires after a certain time.

I could edit this after posting but that function has disappeared on older posts. How long you have I don't know.

As Steve says there's a time limit. I can edit a post I have recently made but not a post I made a few hours ago. I don't know what the time limit is. It's a sensible feature to have as it prevents edits which could make following posts have no sense or continuity.
The edit feature is opened from the three dots to the right of the report feature.

It has been changed to 10 minutes for a while as it was being abused by some members.

Hi Allan please excuse my ignorance but were some members abusing their own article? (why?) Or was it possible for others to edit what you'd done in wich case cant they be traced slapped or thrown off. Dave

Some users were editing their replies thus making the thread incoherent for other users to try and follow

But it's all sorted now. The admin have changed it to 10 mins. More than enough time to edit any mistakes you made

I can still edit my 2.53 pm post at 5.42 - not that I want to :smiling3:

                          Posts from previous days? No.

                            Which is fair
