    Happiness is... (Food thread)

    Happiness is a triple fried egg sandwich with chilli sauce and chutney....

    Okay, so only a double egg after this morning's model shop run (I'm on a diet apparently), and in a bun, but still with the required sweet chilli sauce on the top , mango chutney on the bottom, salt and pepper and a large cup of tea.

    Very enjoyable. :thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

    So then - what food makes you Gents happy?

    Curry, in pretty much all of its forms. Close second is a good sausage butty with red sauce.

              Baking bread. I bake all the bread we eat. I am a member of a bread making club and each month we bake something, over the years we have been around the world in bread. Mind you I doubt a sour dough baguette, some good cheddar and a cold one can be bettered.

                    Now I’ve seen that no what’s for dinner tonight, it’s going to be rubbish. I’m salivating. Can’t the mods ban that image - it’s doing me no good.
                    Right, it’s the weekend. Fuel the car and head West to Oggie Land!!!

                        LM Tiger Prawns & Piri-Piri Sauce. Lourenco Marques ( LM ). now Maputo, in Mozambique was famous for the seafood, especially prawns. I was introduced to this in a restaurant in Durban, South Africa when I was 20. Every time I visited Durban, I would dine on this ambrosia. I've had similar imitations, but nothing compared to the original. The dessert was a pineapple, hollowed out & filled with fresh fruit cocktail laced with liqueur - happy memories!

                          Me too Jim! Okay I bought the rolls today but we usually make all our bread, including sourdough and the gluten free stuff my daughter eats. So much better than shop bought stuff.

                          I'm with you - cheese, homemade bread, glass or two of wine - meal of the gods.

                            Hmm I can see this thread being long.
                            A nice bit of cheese and some Branston pickle on fresh bread. (anything on fresh bread tastes better).
                            A good sandwich with some good ham and a good salad with Hellmans mayonaise.
                            Roast chicken.
                            And must not forget Bacon. As in from a pig. Even better between the fresh bread with some strong English Cheddar and a fried egg.
                            I want my breakfast!
