I found the shooter style games very therapeutic after a crepe day at work. I would look at people at work and smile, unbeknown to them they were wasted so many times the night before!!!!

WELL on my megadrive machine i play PGA tour golf with jen an now a new freind John an for its time the graphips are fairly good an its good for the ole brain as it makes you think out how hard to hit the ball an how the windage is goin to effect the ball in flight an if you hit a birddie their is a load of clappin in background to spur you on an win money which i never have yet but its a nice relaxin game where you can take your time an several differnt golf courses so its gets differnt so you dont get fed up on the same course

AN A COUPLE OF SHOOTEM UP games one is F22 RAPTOR filght game an when i hit a target i say TAKE LEAD SUCKER lol an the other is a abramms battle tank game an thats very good too for its time a you can move around the tank to be COMMANDER or GUNNER or DRIVER an this game i spent 8HRS all at once playin all the campains when i had back trouble bad an it sure took my mind off my back trouble WOW i was shattered when i beat the game but it sure passed the time layin flat on my back as jen put a pillow under my head an raised the tv up more so i could see it but had a go yesterday but as been said the ole reflexes are a lot slower now so got shot up badly urgh

I think that's cool that you still have a working Megadrive Chris. I do wish I still had some of the 8 and16 Bit machines I had back in the 80s/90s.

I don't play games of any kind. Many years ago my daughter got Prince of Persia when it first came out. I tried it once, but about 2 minutes in I was bored stiff.
The only thing I can say about the shoot em up type games is that if you get shot in one of them it hurts a damn sight less than real life.

Loved the earlier Civilisation games, and X-com as well, and played the football manager sim Championship manager a lot. Never did like first person shooters, just found them boring after a few minutes. An exception was Half life, mostly because I liked the settings. Stopped playing games once I came off shift work really, just occasionally messing about with simple puzzle and word games on my iPad these days.
Didn't know you included puzzles! I'm sort of addicted to samurai sudokus.

In my first seven years of WoW, one of the regulars in the (small) guild I was in, was a woman who was the same age as my mother. OK, that was around ten years ago, so she was in her mid-60s at the time, and I lost touch with her when I quit the game, but unless she’s since died of the chain-smoking she apparently did, I would be surprised if she wasn’t still playing some MMORPG or other today.

I'm a PS5 & PC user. I like big open world games, so Fallout, GTA, Mass Effect, Red Dead, Assassins Creed, etc.
