D-Day 80th anniversary sponsored walk (RBL)

    Hello Chaps,

I’ve signed up to take part in the Royal British Legion D-Day 80th anniversary sponsored walk to raise money for veterans.
It involves walking 80km during June (not all in one go :smiling6 which is apparently the combined length of the five D-day beaches.
I have attached a link to my JustGiving page if any of you generous people fancy sponsoring me.
I will post regular updates to show my progress :smiling4:

    Thanks,

    Geoff.

Kicking off the challenge with a nice, gentle 10ish mile walk from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay and back :smiling6:

    Geoff.

Well D-Day tomorrow and I’m pleased to say that I have completed the 80km target of my sponsored walk :smiling4:

I’m quite surprised I’ve managed to reach the target so soon but being on holiday has helped me be able to get some decent walks done.

I will carry on though now though through June as that is the RBLs time frame for the whole challenge.

I’ve decided that my new aim will be to walk another 68km, roughly the combined distance from Sword, Gold & Juno beaches to Caen which was the Allies next main objective after securing the beach head.

So, as before thank you for your generous donations and any further sponsorship gratefully received, there is a link to my just giving page listed in the opening post.

                Thanks,

                Geoff.
