    Accurate Armour to close

sad news for some but it looks like Accurate Armour is closing down.

    [HEADING=1]Accurate Armour Limited[/HEADING]

We have decided to close the doors of Accurate Armour Limited next year and I will then retire from model manufacturing and Rob will pursue a new career.
The closing process has now started and we are in Phase-1.
All items marked in green on our website are available to order as usual, and many will continue to be made until production casting ends in a few weeks time.
There will be a lot more to say at later dates but today we are just getting the message out.
Thank you for reading and best wishes.
    Derek Hansen.

    Hi Derek
    That is sad news.
I thought AA always produced quality resin kits. I’ve had the pleasure of building a few myself over the years (Bedford OYD and the Cromwell ARV conversion) and have ordered many quality accessories such as the porpoise ammunition sled from your good selves.

The modeling community will be poorer place without Accurate Armour. I wish both you and Rob all the best with your future endeavors.
    All the best
    Paul

A real shame. I saw the news earlier. Set to close next year. Maybe some bargains to be had but prices will rise in the future as their products become rare.

I have had a few bits from them but the prices make your eyes water.
I guess the market is harder now as well. 3D printing is slowly replacing resin casting. No moulding expenses and can be corrected on the fly.

        Still a pity though.

Sad to read, but a sign of the changing times as Ian says.

I did think about selling a kidney... or maybe a child to buy one of their kits, swmbo put a stop to it!

I’ve got a number of their full kits, but only bought one of those new, and that was with a discount at Euro-Militaire. I only discovered a month or so later that Trumpeter was going to release a plastic kit of it soon, which I suspect is why they gave me that discount It’s also the only full AA kit I’ve built to date … The others, which I bought second-hand and still have in the stash, have all been superseded by plastic kits too: an M114A1, a 17-pounder M10, and I think one other kit that I don’t recall off the top of my head.
