    The coming storm!

    Hi chaps

Firstly apologies for not being around much.....new job plus some time away.

A friend from a US site I'm on has been visiting the UK and so I met up with him Saturday to visit the RAF Museum @ Hendon and then HMS Belfast.

As we were about to get off the Belfast, with a nice sunny sky above our heads, I looked west.....to see an oncoming storm.

I took a couple of pictures to send my wife.....

The first from the starboard (right) side of the ship and the second was from the gangway off the port side, towards the bank....and in the second case, by complete fluke, I got what I think is an amazing shot from a cheap Android.

    I hope you agree!

    ATB

    Andrew

It almost looks like something from a movie or a computer generated image. Awesome photo!

You can almost hear a choir in the background going "Aaaaahh!!!..." Lovely shot Andrew.

Yeah, but the RN refused to sail up the Thames to take on the Martians in London...

Now, someone should be standing on that pier in the second shot going 'l have the power!'

              Awesome pics

Bit late for that! Strictly speaking, Thunder Child was already gone by then, along with most of the Home Fleet lost to the Black Smoke deployed from the Martian flying machine, so I should have said 'what was left of the Navy...'

Wait. How did we get to this?
                  Usual forum tangents is how!

Thanks chaps for the comments....both serious and humorous.

I really am not a photographer and was only looking send my wife (who did not come down with me) a couple of pics to show her what was heading our way.

It was only when I looked back at the shot that I realised the effect the sun/lens had created with the 'beam' of light and how Belfast was lit up brightly. and almost artificially when compared the coming storm.

Tim Marlow - definitely worth the price of admission! I actually signed up to IWM membership before I left, Duxford is only an hour from me and I've never been the Churchill War Rooms, so I'll more than get my money back!
