    Tamiya TS and AS conversions

Has anybody seen a conversion chart for Tamiya's TS and AS sprays?

I know I could decant them, but I'd rather use alternative paints as the cans are quite expensive.

    Hi,

Not sure if this helps but they have some charts and info and are always helpful. I order all my paint and gear from them, they are cheaper than the shops. Models2U - Bringing Models To You

      Hi there

I would like to see some Tamiya AS and TS spray cans on sale in the shops first, and I'd pay double! They have been withdrawn from sale in the E.U due to the usual idiocy of those who wear suits and ties...

(Apologies to all the fine modellers who might enjoy wearing said garb for pleasure...)

As far as I am aware, there is no clear date for a resumption in supply from Japan yet.

So neer mind a conversion chart for the paints, what about the paints themselves!

      Good luck,

      Saul

        Hi Mate,

Models 2 U do have some discontimued stuff, they were talking to ,e about it before crimbo. Might have what you need. Nothing to lose by giving them a call.

Ok, let's not further talk abut EU regulations, where to buy etc. in this thread. I have started this thread for one purpose, to find other paints that could be used instead of Tamiya TS and AS sprays. I do not want to use them because they are expensive and I don't think anybody who has an airbrush would want to use them anyway.

The only conversion charts on Models 2U website is Revell to Humbrol and Humbrol to Revell unfortunately.

For your information Saul, the TS cans can be obtained from here: Hiroboy.com - Specialising in Scale Car and Bike Model Kits, Accessories, Paints, etc. I do not know where to get the AS paints. If you need to find out, please start another thread elsewhere.

In the meantime, if anybody knows of the conversion chart, please let me know.

          Thanks

          Stan

            Hi StanG

Dunno if this is helpful, but this link seems to have SOME conversions from AS to XF Tamiya colours, although it appears you might have to do a bit of mixing it up...

Hope the link works. Apologies if you have seen it before. Thanks for your other replies too!

            Cheers, Saul

                Thanks Saul,

I'm getting somewhere now. If anybody finds more about conversions TS/AS to other paints, to any modelling acrylics, keep me posted.

                Thanks,

                Stan

Does anyone know if there are any places in the UK, that still have Tamiya TS paint in stock? I've even emailed the uk distributor, and they can only say they will be back in the uk "later in the year", I have found a couple of shops in the USA but they cant ship them over cause they only send them via air mail.

I have ordered any Tamiya paint that i can't get in the UK off ebay. Come really fast and with no problems. Do a search on there to see if anyone is 'supplying' it.
