    Hi Jeff

WOW - flown out of JFK a few times but managed to keep my feet dry,

I think everyone on board should invest a few $ on the lottery.

How many times I have heard the phrase 'in the unlikley event of a landing on water' and I always thought, 'we're done for'...........but it appears I am completley wrong, these things do actually float !! However, all credit to the pilot, I mean how many pilots have actually landed on water in this way ?

        Hi Colin

I remember another time China Air landing at Kai Tek [Hongkong's old airport] runway is built into the harbour and he slid off into the water,

it was a scary approach turning as you came in and looking up at skyscrapers on either side.

I was one of the last passengers to use that airport, Cathay Pacific gave us all a comerative plaque to mark the occasion. It was an amazing approach, being able to look left or right and se people in offices, ABOVE you ! I wonder if pilots miss the place ?
