    At my local charity shop

Someone mentioned they could be a source of cheap kits, so I had a quick look and saw a 1/48 Fiat Cr42 by Classic Airframes for £17.50 (£22.49 elsewhere) and a 1/48 P39 Airacobra by Monogram for £7.50. I was tempted by the Fiat, but it's a bit pricey for me at the moment. Maybe when I can do it justice.

I would be happy to buy it for someone on the forum and post it at cost. Maybe the shop would take £15 for it.

Id not thought of charity shops as a source of kits. Will have a look in my local shops next time im in town.£7.50 for a 1/48 Monogram P39 is good.I made that kit some years ago and thought it was a nice kit.

I've picked up so many bargains at the local charity shops, I pop in all the time to see if there's another kit been donated.

I buy kits which I'd never buy in my lms so it stretches me a bit.

I've found TK MAXX Homesense stores a great source of new kits. It seems the most unlikely place, but the one near me at Chester, had a good selection of kits at half price - you need to look in the toy section - but there's bargains to be had. I recently bought a Revell 1/32 Hawker Hurricane anniversary edition for £8, and I've had other good kits from them. They seem to sell mainly Revell which is fine by me. It's weird but I now drag the wife into TK Maxx!!

My local TK Maxx had some Revell 1/24 Touring Car kits for a reasonable price. I might go back and get the Airacobra. Although the plane itself doesn't appeal, it could be a cheap first attempt at a bigger scale, and no big deal if I muck it up.

Yes, but now you know TK MAAX is a source of low price kits. It's always a matter of luck with them, of course depends what you're after. I'm always after aircraft so I'd be a bit disappointed like you were Colin. Keep looking and its missus friendly!! Ivor

Good luck, Colin. I'm off to buy shares in TK MAAX now!!! Seriously though, they can be a bit random in what type of stock they carry but there's definitely bargains to be had. Ivor

I not see any Model Kits in any of the charity shop down our way .

But I go to a lot of carboots fairs and Ive pick up a few Model Kits very cheaply indeed.

                    2 weeks ago I got a 1/48 Fw 190 for £2.00.

Last week end picked a bag full of 1/72 models 13 in all 9 complete 4 with bits missing for £4.oo.

If you have any round your way give them a go.
