Model passenger Liner Required for New British Feature Film

    Dear all members,

I was hoping that your forum may be able to help me locate a large model passenger liner for a new British Comedy.

The film is called Re-Uniting the Rubins and stars Timothy Spall and Honor Blackman.

Lenny Rubins (Timothy Spall) is about to embark on his lifes dream of a round the world cruise when his ailing mother (Honor Blackman) persuades him to stay and straighten out his oddball family before it’s too late.

Lenny's gloomy flat is dominated by one predominant feature, his pride and joy - a large scale model of a passenger liner.

I would really appreciate an advice from your members regarding where I may be able to locate such a model. I would also appreciate their guidance as to the type of model ship which may be avaliable - the models of the Titanic and Queen Mary 2 are spectacular but is there something similar on the market that is a little less recognisable?

Many thanks everyone, I very much look forward to your feedback.

Not an easy task - you may find a few kits of 1960/70's vintage i.e. QE2, Queen Mary 1, SS France etc. There are specialist firms who produce kits from about $330 upwards. Suggest you google "Model Ocean Liners". Problem is with this subject is that the producers of regular plastic kits do so for a mass market so only the "national flag ships" tend to be produced or alternatively the infamous. Hence so many Titanics and fortunately her sister ships but so few other majestic ships from the old shipping lines. Good luck in your search. David
