    IL2 STURMOVIK Flight Simulators

:knight:Hello out there in cyberspace, just saying hello to every one. Just said g'day (thats Australian if you were not sure) to Yakface, and I thought I might post a new thread to see how it works. Has any one ever thought of using the flight sim games as a resource for great, rare and obscure wwII aircraft. The UBISOFT series IL2 STURMOVIK has unreal pictures of Russian, German and Allied aircraft with fantastic detail and also the weathered look is amazing. I have seen in a magazine that there is a new third version of the series out now and will definetly look for it on the store shelves.

    G'day sport,

Had a few tinnies last night so I've spent a bit of time on the dunny.

Strewth mate, really flushed me out, no worries!

You are dead right about video games being a great reference source.

I've been playing these since the start (playstation 1.2.3) and still enjoy them, not bad for a bus pass holder!!

I often use them when I need to look at detail, colours, weathering etc., and it gives me a good excuse to have a blast.

The game you mention is out now in the U.K.on PS3 and is called IL 2 Sturmovik ' Birds of Prey.' The detail, paintwork and weathering is stunning on the dozens of different aircraft and armour.

    Welcome to the forum,

    :beer2:

    Cheers cobber,

    Ron
