    Photo of Weathered Zero.

Hi all, here is a photo of my beat up and weathered Zero. I prefer to see world war two fighters with a bit of wear and tear and battle fatigue. I hope I havent gone too far with this one, allthough I do like it. This is a model of the 21st Century Kit model Zero bought for the princely sum of £9.99. I did have a problem with sticking bits together as model glue did not work very well on this plasticky toy type plastic. Had to use Superglue in the end. Painted (airbrushed) the model with primer and then light green and then a darker green. Used soft scourer and warm soapy water to slightly remove some of the top dark green to reveal the lighter green, then used silver crayon and silver felt pen for bare metel parts. Had to take a deep breath first before doing this as it did look good too before. Hope you like it.

Yak, thanks for you comments, would like to see photo of your macchi if poss. I like these models for their cheapness and quality but find it hard to get them. I do have the Stuka still unmade, the moulding and detail does look good.

            all the best

            john.

I was interested to read to read this reply to Tony (Yak face)

Although I tend to build 1/35 armour I am dipping my toes into other forms of plastic modelling. Thanks to yak face my conscience got the better of me. lol!

I purchased a 109f, a Stuka and the Macci, all 21st Century Toys 1/32 scale and had change from £6.00 !!! You are quite right, although cheap, the detail is excellent. I bought a second Macci for my 11 yr. old grandson and because of the big scale ,he really enjoyed making it..... that's my boy!!

I found them a couple of months ago in Poundstretcher or was it Poundland ? I'm not sure which now. I have been trying to get the Zero and F4 Corsair in the same series but have had no luck.

I suspect they were a one off as far as this store was concerned.

Have you had any luck yet in your search as I would dearly love to get the set, particularily the Corsair.

              Ron

Sorry to go off your thread a bit John...

Thats where I got mine from Tony, 'Home bargains', thanks. Couldn't think for the life of me where I bought mine from, but now I know. Yes, £1.99!

Thanks for the info. I will have a look tonight. I'm determined to get a large scale Corsair from somewhere!

                  Cheers,

                  Ron
