uploading photos & Building my 1st Diorama.

Being a computer numpty , how do you get the photos in with your threads also how do delete photos from your own profile/gallery.

The old saying is one picture/photo can speak a thousand words , so any help would be very welcome , I`m learning everyday on this forum (hence all my questions) , with a bit of luck after a few years I will be able to offer a few basic bits of advice to the new guys instead of asking for advice all of the time.

My plan is to build my 1st war 1/35 diorama (soon) and post each stage on here getting the experts (you) advice as I go, starting of with drawings right through to the finnish, with stage by stage photo`s as it goes , any advice be it good or bad is great, think of yourselfs as consultants , being new to modelling myself it might be a great insight to the new guys starting out,

I know its not a new idea as a lot of guys do it on here but a novice like me (with the help of you) could help bring all new modellers on.

What do you think guys .

    Step 1. Open a photobucket account www.photobucket.com

At this screen you'll need to decide your screename and password. If your screename is already in use you'll have to pick another and the bot will prompt you if this is the case.

The next screen will ask you for further details. You will have to fill in all the details as requested or else it won't allow you to go to the next screen. Basically you need a valid email address (incase you forget passwords etc) and need to be over 13 years old. You can submit a fake email address but if you forget your password you're screwed. Photobucket don't send you any shit as a rule. I've never had any spam off them.

Now you're registered, sorting the pictures out couldn't be easier. First thing you need to do is autosize your pictures. This is about 800 pixels X 600 pixels for this forum. You can ignore this if you're already using software to limit pictures to the 800pixel width.

Midscreen there is an a clickable that reads UPLOADING OPTIONS.

    select the 800x600 option...

This will autosize all future pictures. All pictures up to 800pixels wide will remain the same. Anything larger than 800pixels wide will be shrunk to 800pixels wide

Now you're ready to upload pictures. These two steps can be repeated with any picture set up.

When your picture is hosted to your library you need to select the correct "tags" to allow it to be posted here. The one we're after is the tag which is used by most message boards to display pictures in posts.

By clicking the option shown you save the link to your computers clipboard. By pasting that link into a post you'll be showing the picture when your post is finally shown. Simply paste it where you want the picture to be shown in your post and then hit the Preview button. This will show you how it's going to look when you've finished.

If you're happy with the size and location of the picture. Hit Submit and voila...

Bit of a guide regarding your dio., if you go to 'under construction' there are some stage by stage models there, mine included. I'm not blowing my own trumpet but there might be a few pointers to help you with your project....

I, no we, look forward to the first installment.

      Cheers,

      Ron
