    I.P.M.S. Sig's

Hello everybody (hi Dr Nick c/o Simpson's)

I was wondering how many of you are in the IPMS and belong to a Special Interest Group and how does it work for you

As I understand there is no club or meetings involved so how do you keep in contact. Is it only on line or is there an AGM type of meeting once a year for the SIGs. And are there any benefits for joining the IPMS

I was interested in the SCiFi group but unsure about the lack of a structured club and also the social side of things of meeting people and swapping ideas etc. Wahts your thoughts

    Thanks all

      Hi Tony

I'm a member of the IPMS, though joined very recently. All for the wrong reasons I guess, as it worked out cheaper for the Scalemodel World entry fee at Telford. Having said that, I have received my first bimonthly magazine which is very informative with various model build reviews included. There are areas for improvement with the mag but seeing that this was created by vocational people, I have no complaints at all. As for local IPMS clubs, it's all down to where you live. Personally, I won't be travelling 40miles to a pub to pick up tips (but no drinks) when you have great forum right here - though I guess the 1 to 1 advice and social side would be a great benefit.

Anyone else a member of the IPMS? - Does anyone go to local club meetings? What's your stance on this?

      Chris
