What is the Holy Grail of your Model wants?

while trawling through the net, not that I have the skill to make them that well yet,or able to justify the money, but I thought to myself what would be the one model I would like to get and I think it would be the P51 Mustang in a large scale like 1/24

    what would yours be?

    Hi Dograt,

I'd really like to see a C47, or any variant, in 1/35 scale. Does anyone know if there's been one made? The diorama possibilities are endless due to the sheer number of locations where they were used and the jobs they had to do.

A decent SR-71 Blackbird would be nice or as Gern said a good Skytrain-I once had a flight in a Dak so I'd love to build one. Patrick

Actually a big scale C 47/DC 3 would be ace - I actually rebuilt a full size one a few years ago, so to model Papa Yankee in her glory would be very interesting. The diorama would depict the removal of the wing for the second time after some bits were left out. How we laughed[1].

[1] It was a huge number (something like 248?) of 7/16" nuts and bolts that you could only turn with an open ended spanner as they were so close to the flange surface. So hearing "Guess what chaps, it's got to come off again" wasn't greeted with enthusiasm! I would be surprised if a least one of the other team members isn't reading this.

For me it would be a 1/48 F19 stealth fighter. Revell did a kit years ago But it was so rare to get hold of.

                  Hi Graham,

I got hold of a 1/48 Airfix TSR2 at the Telford show a few weeks ago. I paid about £25 and there are some advertised on ebay at the moment for just a few quid more than this. From the info I've looked at, it seems it's not impossible to produce a very good model from this kit. I also understand that Airfix do a 1/72 version too.

                  Hope this helps.

Didn't I read somewhere that just such a 109F is on the way. I hope so. It may have been Eduard. I've just converted a G back to an F only to discover that the aircraft I'm doing was probably an early G anyway! Nothing like conflicting references. Too late now anyway.

A well detailed, quality Avro Vulcan 1/72 Scale; please don't refer me to the Airfix one, I did say 'well detailed quality'.

According to a very secret Hasegawa 2010 catalog, its listed as a trop version. I'll see if I can track the link down.

It would be! Stick in some decals for H-J Marseille and you've got a sure fire winner.

Thanks Gern. Must look closer at Ebay, never really considered it as a supplier for kits although I have had quite a bit of stuff from there, thanks for the tip.
