    The Cave

Cant remeber where I saw the post about where you make models so here we are:-

I am lucky to have the cave/office :grinball2:

My youngest son converted his old bedroom for me, as doesnt live here anymore, and as I couldnt do it he did as a sort of birthday prezzie, everything used to be stuffed in our bedroom so now I have a cave plus office, I am very lucky

Very nice. I don't have a cave, not even a fox hole. I either work on the kitchen table or on the keyboard shelf when I am on computer. A project for the new year is to convert the freezer end of our split attached shed into a very small but usable workstation. As it is a metal construction, I plan to put some batons on the inside, pack with insulation and then cover with plasterboard. Should be able to keep it warm and dry quite cheaply then.

I can only dream of a setup like yours.

I lined the outside shed and used polystyrene sheets about 2 inches thick then covered it with stirling board, the polysterene is alot easier to work with than rolls of insulation and you can just cut it with a sharp saw, works a treat

        Hi Dograt,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's not a cave - it's far too tidy! You can only call it a cave when you can't see any of the horizontal surfaces for bits of models, paints, tools etc; and all the vertical surfaces have shelves for kits, tool racks, reference photos etc. And where's your stash? Give it a couple of months though and no doubt you'll get there!

PS I'm only jealous 'cos my 'workshop' is an old breadboard about 8"x10" that I have on my lap, I'd love a set-up like yours.
