ok guys the missus has completed her first ever model and iam trying to persuade her to let me photograph it for her and put it in a post, however she has a tamiya mercedes benz for christmas and the question is this... she wants to do a silver body colour and needs to know what colour of primer will show the body colour to it's best, i hope someone can help here as she seems to be in a modelin mood.

hi,scott, great to hear your missus is enjoying her modelling, is she spraying (either airbrush or aerosol)the body or brushing it and with what paint. If shes airbrushing with something like alclad then a gloss black undercoat is recommended however if shes using an aerosol then ive found grey is ok but you could use black here too,its her preference. Whatever she decides ,shes no need to worry about posting some pics, theres always a positive reaction from us lot ,she'll always be welcome . hope this helps cheers tony

Wow, it must be great to have SWMBO interested in modelling. Beats the snide "Going to play with your toy soldiers dear? That's good...." type remark I usually get lol

You lucky man Scott , I wish my misses had the same interest , all I get is LOOK HOW MUCH YOU`VE SPENT ON THE CREDIT CARD THIS MONTH, when I try to explain that I`m building my kit up ie- paint , tools , pigments etc etc and will last for years , it goes right over her head.

anyway off to buy some more stuff online now.

            Happy new year

            Richy.
