Did Santa bring any nice models or equipment? :)

    Afternoon all!

I hope you all had a nice Christmas and got loads of prezzies. Did Santa bring you anything from the modelling sphere?

I was personally quite chuffed. Apart from socks, gloves and some more ammo for my BB gun, i was given the Tamiya work stand. Nice little thing with a good magnifying glass - something i've been without and now i can focus on the details such as painting figures. The light is a bit weak but generally it's pretty good. I'll still use my A3 cutting mat ans this stand when painting. And mush to my surprise, I got Tamiya's new Matilda Mk.III/IV and the Churchill Crocodile Flamethrower version. The relatives got me Tamiya's Britol Beaufighter which i'll use as an experiment before undertaking my quest of my 1/48 Mossie which has been sitting on the shelf for 6 months. I'm just scared to ruin it

    Have a nice holiday everyone

Along with the Tamiya Spit from SWMBO my daughters got me two spare needles for each of my "active" airbrushes. How thoughtful is that? One of them must have heard me bemoaning the fact that I'd used the last "spare" in my eclipse. They even got the right ones....brilliant. Also got a magnifying glass with built in light which may come in useful though I already have a magnifier set up. SWMBO also gave me a bottle of nail varnish remover to "stop you nicking mine"

Not a bad haul at all!

Some nice prezzies there lads. Yeah Steve, i love the Tamiya Spit. I'm expecting it from my parents but Russian post can take months it's always nice when wives or g/fs get us the models or tools we need. In my case it's definately to keep me quiet

By the way jspitza, if you ever need any pics of Migs, let me know. I'm surrounded by them I'm off to the T-34 tank museum to take some detailed reference pics for Patrick in the New Year's holiday.

Yeah Patrick, i plan to do the Mossie in January's holiday. The Russkies have a 10 day holiday so that ought to give me enough time to build and cry Funnily enough i watched 633 Squadron yesterday - bored my other half to tears though

You have all been very lucky punters, but I can outdo you all.

Santa brought me a limited edition box of Maynards Red and Black wine gums.......and a tangerine.

Oh! almost forgot, he also gave me a 1/35 Sherman tank and a USMC figures kit.

I am typing this in bed as I have gone down with flu, not the pork one, or whatever it's called, so I am just looking at the kit instructions, eating the odd red/black and planning the coming invasion........

                Life can be hell!!!

Have a great New Years Eve boys and girls.

                Ron

                :nurse:Not the needle again!!!!!!!!!!!

Maynard's wine gums! You lucky so and so. If they ain't Maynard's they ain't wine gums. Hope the flu doesn't knock you about too much...you can console yourself with a nice wine gum!

Poor Ron But i like your optimism - it's not swine flu I can't remember what winegums taste like. When my parents parcel finally arrives, i'll get my Tamiya Spit as well as my choco Hob-Nobs. They're like gold dust here among my Anglo colleagues

I'll be looking forward to seeing your Sherman mate

                      Hope you'll get better soon.

Alright Tony, you got some nice prezzies then Yeah, i wanted to go online to order some stuff to be shipped over but the misses keeps hold of the credit card for obvious reasons She got me loads of models and related stuff for Christmas in the hope that i would not need to, as she pust it, "waste money" on models and equipment merely sitting on the shelf gathering dust But you never know when a packet of Noch bricks might come in handy!

My daughters bought me the Airfix Vulcan, it's huge. Unfortunately, they forgot the bucket of filler I might be needing ! I think I might just use Isopon.........
