Richy C - 1st dio update

Hi Guys , 1st off you were not wrong Patrick I`ve also had a nightmare trying to get things to fit , I`m hoping after some filling and another coat it will look ok , once thats done its time to weather it (not looking forward to that bit) , still quite a bit to do ie- paint inside of house , fences , window shutters , wall lamp , find something from the garden that looks like a tree , touching up etc etc I could go on all night but I`m slowly gettig there, Richy.

Starting to take shape nicely now and I'm glad you are sorting the building out. Take your time and enjoy the build even though sometimes there does seem a long way to go.....It will happen at some stage, you will start to get a real buzz on, but where you are now is poss. the most difficult because your mind is bouncing all over the thing wondering which bit to do first. Try and decide on a particular area and stick there!!

I am with you all the way, keep smiling through!

Don't worry I'm sure it can be sorted, and thanks for the comment re. my diorama. perhaps it can give you some pointers for when you add some rubble to your model. Mine was from sweeping the concrete floor in the garage!!! That's my niggle though that people might think I've messed up my album on purpose!

Don't forget, me and the boys and girls are on hand with any help, no matter how trivial it may sound to you, just ask.

Hey Richy, you've done really well with that house, mine's not fit for public viewing yet! I'm looking forward to seeing the development of this one. As Ron said, some rubble will look good as will whatever tank you put on there. If you're thinking about a tree or bush, find some roots (ivy works well) then wash off the dirt, whack it it the microwave for 10 seconds to kill any bugs. You can then paint white glue over the roots & sprinkle with dried herbs. It makes a realistic bush or tree, cheaper & better than the stuff for sale. Patrick

Richy, this is looking good, you are building up a great atmosphere of abject misery an defeat, well done. One thing though...."KEEP AN EYE ON THE SHIFTY ONE IN THE MIDDLE, CORPORAL RICHY!" lol

                    Nice work,

Nice to see you good people are starting to see the endless supply of diorama stuff is in our gardens, veggy plots, paths, rockeries and yes, even our 'clean' garage floors. We will fight them on the beaches, in the streets and in the hills...We will never surrender our hard earned wonga to a diorama accessory seller again!!

I need a lie down, no I'm already in bed, sorry got very patriotic there!

Afternoon gents , while waiting for the filler to dry on the house i`m going to add these Paras and the gamekeeper ( still got the para with the red beret to do )

Hi Dograt , only used the airbrush once to put a light grey basecoat on the house , seemed nice to use but I know when it comes camo effects its going to be a complete different ball game , the next time I`m going to use it is for a tamiya 1/35 M4 sherman I`ve got which thankfully is only one colour , I`m going to ease myself in gently with this airbrush game.

                        Richy.

Evening gents , just a quick one , finnished the para with the beret ( apart from a few bits of touching in ) but getting into the improvising way of modelling I made my own map - needs trimming down but never the less I`m well chuffed , the satisfaction you get from making stuff instead of buying stuff is great , no matter how small , bring on the trees and rifle straps.

                            Happy new year guys

This is getting better by the brushload, Richy....Don't you get a buzz out of making stuff yourself, from thinking, scrounging and finally making it? That's why I unfortunately tend to get on my soapbox about the subject!!!!!!Have a great night tonight and 2010.
