Italeri 1:35 scale Elco pt boat photos

Hi all it has been finished finally here is my Christmas present, it is the Italeri 1:35 scale ELCO pt boat this has taken until 5 weeks to build and paint straight from the box which includes aluminium gun barrels, photoetch section and the added extras of the crew. This was painted using Humbrol enamals, tamiya acrylics, oils and pastels, i hope you enjoy it and as usual all comments are most welcome.

That is amazing Scott. Not only a superbly build and painted model but so well photographed to. Your shots bring out the simple power of this boat as well as the pure firepower. The whole thing just looks so right, spot on.

brilliant work again scott, well done. how about putting this in a diorama with the schnellboot, it wouldnt take up too much room, you could probably get them on a 6ft square base!!!??

That's top-notch stuff Scott! The word 'excellent' is often bandied about too much but this definitely qualifies! The crew look great if perhaps a tad surprised (!) but I really like the overall effect. And how did you do the torps? They look very good. This is what Christmas is all about you lucky dog!

I thank my lovely wife for the present, as for the torps they were painted gold then i mixed up a few shades of rust coloured pastels in a little thinner then painted it on, then carefully with a soft cloth wiped off the excess.

have you ever considered making the boat radio controlled and really get some fun out of it?

Ive just ordered my own PT boat and am seriously considering installing 3 electric motors and radio gear, think it will sail really great. I just need to find out what size motors, propshafts, propellors and rudders i will need to keep scale, but get realistic performance.
