    Modelling Diary

Just had a thought. Does anyone keep a modelling diary, or 'project Manage' their builds?

The reason I ask is that I have just looked around and I have 7 kits on the go, two 1/72 aircraft from the Falklands set to start, and two military kits to start. Not a lot by some stashes I know but I have just spent an hour thinking of what I out to be doing without actually doing anything.

I know that I have some priming to do, will continue to use rattle cans for that as it works so well. But I also need to re start my Mustang which I put on hold pending air brushing. I just wondered if there was any milage in creating some sort of plan for each kit and ticking off the jobs so that when something like priming has to be done, it would help locate what else needs priming and do it all together.

I realise this may sound over the top but I just wondered if anyone else does it...

No, I just stumble from one disaster to the next! Mind you, the snails pace that I go at, any diary of mine would end up as some kind of archeological find to be discovered on Time Team!

there must be at least 15 or so kits in our loft ,mostley started by my son some years ago.i think i'll need a project manager to sort it all out....

on the plus side it will give me plenty of practice before i have to lay out any cash

You cannot beat it. Experience is the only thing you cannot buy in this great hobby of ours. Well, that and skill but you can learn the skills especially with the great advice and help you get on this forum.

I'm definitely a bit odd in that I only ever build one model at a time. That strains the capacity of the grey matter as it is. The prospect of building several at once is enough to make me need a lie down. I also have the physical restraints of space and working in our largely unused front room. I still have to pack everything up for visitors etc.

                Cheers

I'm like Steve on this one. I can only build one at a time unless it's a really simple model. At the moment i'm, like Patrick said, modelling at snails pace partly due to work and a baby daughter that demands a lot of attention. However, my Mossie is slowlyyyyyyyyyyy coming a long. Yesterday, i started early with some interior painting and had to leave it overnight to dry. So i started on my Tamiya Spit and got quite far with it. That's the first time i've multi-tasked modelling. But i wouldn't keep a dirary because in all honesty i'm not that organised

Sorry Graham, but what with one thing or another, like work and spending FAR too much time admiring the stuff I see here almost every day, my actual modelling time is far too short to use any of it to keep a diary! Even though I kick myself almost every time I get my paints out 'cos I miss summat I could have done in the same colour - mostly on another kit I'm working on, but sometimes on the kit I have in my hand at the time!
