You know you are hooked when....

I came home from work this afternoon, usual routine. Let the dogs out, make a coffee boot up computer and sit back to read Scale Models latest posts.

Trouble is, my beloved iMac didn't boot up. It sat there with a blue screen (not related to Windows Blue Screen of Death) but it was not loading up. Now my iMac is my pride and joy, my most loved inanimate object, my life.

But what was my first thought? Not that I would not get to see the latest posts on Scale Models as I had already started up my netbook to do that and find some info re the dead mac. Nope, my first thought was "I am not going to get any modelling done tonight if I can't sort this out quick"

I think I am hooked on modelling.......

BTW, the iMac was up and running within the hour.

I'm self employed and once turned down a couple of days work to finish a model. I must be hooked and that made a very expensive model.

    Cheers

You know you're hooked when if you're moving house, as I am, the last things to get packed are the kits & modelling equipment. They'll be the 1st things to be unpacked too! A sign of getting old too coz it used to be the stereo;o) *sigh*

You know you're hooked when, as is happening this week-end, your missus is going away to help celebrate her God Daughter's 40th b/day and instead of getting the steaks and ale in, you go out and buy a model kit to keep you occupied!!!!!!!!

        So, so sad......

I know I'm hooked. A dream I had last night I was about to use a desk telephone and the operation of the keys was like an airbrush control !

I know I'm hooked. My garage has never been as tidy and a workshop is appearing slowly.

Yep, i know i'm hooked because sometimes i forget to eat. Like Patrick, i'm moving house. The place is being gutted and rennovated with a state of the art kitchen and bathroom etc. However, all that is secondary because i've even spent time working out how much room i'll have for my own personal modelling space with my state of the art modeeling desk. I seem to worry about that more than having to buy bathroom tiles. Only yesterday evening i budgeted for a slightly cheaper extractor fan in the bathroom so that i had some cash to buy Vallejo paints for my Mossie and Spit. So sad )))))))))))

I will frequently dream about designs and how to model them, drives me nuts, I've managed to make my way through about 100 sides of lined a4 with designs and annotations in the last two months, I made the choice to get a specialised tool to make the product work or eat this weekend, I chose the tool.

You know you're hooked when .......

Number one on my wish list after winning the lottery is to pay a good modeller to teach me all the techniques I need for modelling!

(The retirement from work has dropped to number two, the big house to keep all the kits in has dropped to number three, and the posh car to fetch them is number four)
