Posting pictures on the forum using the gallery

There's seem to be a few people having problems posting images on the forum using the new manage attachments, the be way to put images in your posts is using the gallery, it's very easy to do here's a short tutorial, just remember if you have a few pictures it post then it's best to have 2 tabs open in your browser that way it's easier to switch between them.

First of all go to the gallery

Once there click on upload photo's

    Easy so far

Then do the following not necessarily in the same order.

1: Browse for the pictures on your computer.

2: Choose what gallery they belong in

3: Add your title and description

    4: Press Upload/Submit

Your picture(s) should now be uploaded.

Click on the expand button (A) then copy the URL in the Direct Link box (B)

    Go back to your post

Click on the insert image icon

In the the box that pop's up paste in your url that you copied from box B

    Press OK

Your done, when you submit new thread or use the reply to a thread you should have an image there.

    Any problems let me know.

(Just a foot note, if you are asked to login to the gallery just use your forum username and password)

I have just uploaded a couple of photos into the gallery and found them to be on the large size. The current size is 1280 x 960. I would like to reduce the size. What size do you recommend?

Did you upload directly from your computer ? If so, you need to upload to your gallery separately. You can link images directly from your gallery to your post, but this doesn't work for me these days so I have to upload twice, once to my post and once to my gallery.

                  Regards

                  Colin M.........

I thought i had a gallery from the pictures i posted a while back but when i went to look at them just this week i found the forum wanted me to log in seperatly to the gallery, then it told me i hadn't got one.

I just upload from the pc to any relevant post now ... just easier.

One thing you can't do (or i can't in my settings) is manage the attachments, i can only view them and the thread they were included in.

I'm admin on two other forums and we have always given the user the option to delete, rename or whatever.

If you are asked to log in to the gallery it's your normal username and password I have checked permissions and they seem ok, can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing.
