It's a matter of preference unless you've got a good photo. RAF fighters seem to vary from really quite shiny to dead matt depending on theatre, age etc. I like this picture of a nice silky finish (notice reflection in horizontal stabiliser) along with a bit of wear and tear. They were a bit busy at the time!

Remember that if you go with silk and feel it is still a bit too shiny for your taste you can always matt it down. It's harder to go the other way.

    Cheers

Now I have completed my first aircraft my admiration for you flyguys knows no bounds.

The model I have just completed had no working surfaces at all to contend with. ( I've just looked at the box and out of 5 it had a skill level of 2!) How you guys cope with flaps ect and paint the inner workings to boot must be a great test of patience. The work you all put into cockpit detail is amazing. Infact the whole business of aeromodelling is a very fine, detailed art.

My hat goes off to you all.......

Now, I'm off to paint and weather a tank...Where's that yard brush and shovel? lol

Hi Scott , Cheers mate was tempted to start the next stage on the wingy thing but thought better of it , had a strange day today wanted to crack on but ran out of things to do ended up making the injured resin german bloke , primed a few other kits I`ve got including some new figures for my ardennes dio , along with having a nose on here spent a lot of time on ebay spending a small fortune, my next dio is sorted though got the Matilda for £12 then got the other figures in the photos, with a bit of work on my old SAS jeep I may be able to get it up to dio standard ( maybe not yours or Rons ) , also watching a pink panther LR on ebay , sorry I`ve gone well off track - gone all dio again

To much to do and not enough time - as the old saying goes
