Many thanks for my e-mail yesterday wishing me a "Happy Birthday" from the forum

Now to the "Serious Stuff" The inside of "Gun Port Lids" seem to be painted red. Question Does this mean that the "Gun Deck Hull/Bulkheads" are also painted red? [to hide the Blood ?]

Just been looking at some pictures of HMS Victory. All the gun port doors are painted a dull red, similar to hull red from the pics. However, pictures inside the gun deck shows the hull walls were painted the same yellow/beige as the outside of the hull. Obviously a different ship but maybe a standard way of doing it.

Thanks for the reply, my ship is HMS Unicorn [frigate] I trawled thro' my "Hornblower" DVD's and the gun deck is always dark so it's difficult to see the colour, but they did'nt seem to be red.
