    Auction prices

    Hi folks,

I'm still looking out for a suitable FW 190 for the GB and spotted two 1/24 Airfix kits on ebay from the same seller. The first went for £49 and the other for £26. I'm not sure if someone was robbed or if someone got a real bargain - or both! I'm also betting someone didn't get chance to make a bid in between the two auctions finishing!

    Gern

    PS I didn't buy either!

the fw190a 1:24 from airfix retails at £54.99 (rrp). So anything less than £40 would be a good deal.

        Hi John,

The pictures on the box were different so I've just checked the completed listings on ebay. The two that were sold aren't there yet but I'll keep looking and try to find some more specific details.

I am a tad confused that there's another 1/24 shown in the completed list that finished on the 16th of this month - and, despite haunting ebay for the last week or so for an FW 190 for the GB, I didn't see it!

I expect that's just more evidence of my growing senility though!

          B****y search engines!

There was a thread last week about what is needed on a good site, and a good search engine should be somewhere near the top of the priorities list!

Two 1/24 FW 190s were sold on ebay yesterday. D'you think I can find them in the completed listings? Hear that hollow laughter?

On the completed listings there is a 1/24 FW 190 which finished on Tuesday. I'd swear it didn't appear in the live listings last week 'cos I'm looking VERY hard for a suitable one for the group build so I'm 99.99999% sure I wouldn't have missed it!

Somebody please tell me it's a fault with the search engine in ebay and not the one in my head!

Gern are you looking for the Airfix or Trumpeter kit. I've seen a lot of people having a bit of a battle with the Airfix one. A lot of reports of difficulties with the engine fit. Apart from that most seem to enjoy building it and it makes a very impressive model. It must be about 40 years old now.

Hi folks are we talking about the Airfix 1/24 FW 190..... because i've asked for it as a birthday present and after fighting with their mustang kit iam not sure about it now, especially if you have the same kind of difficulties.

I'm sure the Airfix 190 has raised panel lines as well. I'm after the newer 1/32 Hasegawa. The older version of the Hasegawa was re-boxed by Revell

                  Hi Steve,

At the moment I'm looking for ANY large scale FW 190. The only criteria is that it must be cheap so that will rule out the Trumpeter. I have found an internet shop that has the Airfix 1/48 for about £10 so unless summat crops up on ebay in the next week, I'll probably go for that. I'd like the 1/24 but I've got an idea for a diorama (Which I might not go for) that would be really big in that scale.

Scott - I've not seen many reviews but here's the most detailed one I've found:

                  Focke Wulf 190A/F

I agree with Steve that most people comment about problems with the fit of the engine. Something this kit shares with their Me109, Stuka and, strangely enough, the Harrier! All have problems with the engine.

                    Fw 190 kits (BIG)

                    Hi Gern

Have you looked at anything in 1/32?

I have an agreement with Graham that the Ta 152 also counts as a Fw 190 so that could broaden your search a bit.

I have a Pacific Coast Ta 152 H1 to pick up at the post office, but not cheap, even online.

I'll be posting box and sprue shots shortly, and possibly later today.

I know that Hasegawa do a 190 in 1/32 and so do several others, so if you want to step down to 1/32 it may help with your egay searches.

Let us know how you get on please?

                    Best of luck

                      Hi Peter,

Yeah. I'm looking for anything in 48; 32 or 24 scale provided the price is right.

As for letting you know, you'll hear my triumphant yell without me having to post! I've had more thoughts about the diorama and I've found what I need so now I'm really looking forward to the GB - I just gotta get a 'plane!

                      Grumpy Mk 2 (I think?)

I'm sure you already know that there are a good few in 1/32 and even more in 1/48. I'm sure you'll find something suitable. This diorama certainly sound intriguing, when will the mystery be revealed?

                        Cheers
