    A ramdom Rant!!!

What on earth made me buy that Matilda Mk III/VI !?!?!

I have just painted it. AGAIN. First time I sort of got confused and switched between the blue and sand on half the tanks hull.

Ho hum, no problem... do it over.

So half an hour with the masking tape; Tamiya, wonderfull stuff. Sprayed with the correct colour, that nice center part that runs from a fine point at the rear, up across the turret, to end at almost full width at the front.

Nice. Empty air brush, fill with water to stop the residue hardening.

    Remove masking tape. VERY CAREFULLY!!!

Take off half the paint on the hull under said tape!!!

    Rant over.

    Third time lucky?

    I'm off to bed.

It's OK Ian. I've attached an aerial wire to the tail of my 262 then run it through a little hole in the canopy and fixed that end. I've then used a hot spatula (waved below it) to tension it. I've done it FOUR times now and it has either detached from the tail or I've melted the thing on every occasion! I will not be beaten!

      Cheers

      Steve

Edit: I've got the one from tail to canopy...yipee! Now for the little down wire wire from that one to the radio compartment.

I think thwe thing that was getting to me was the fact that it takes for ever to mask up and like five mins to paint. The frustration of pulling the paint along with the tape just did my head in last night! Still, Vallejo are still placed well up on the list. This is the first time I am using them, so I guess there are going to be "experiances" along the way!!!

Not going to make masking the GB plane any less nerve wrecking though!

          Well an almost good result.

Just to say that I have not given up on Matilda. Whilst waiting for the paint to dry on the GB 190, I set about touching in the places the masking tape took the paint off.

          Whats the verdict.

hi ian , ive had cases off the vallejo chipping off too ,admittedly on unprimed plastic such as cockpit interiors, maybe its just a trade off f. or it being so easy to use! ive learnt to always prime any area i intend to use it on , cheers tony
