Well it had to happen some time!

After having seen all the rather nice aircraft on the forum with pointy noses and huge parafin hearters hanging out the back, I thought I'd give one a go. So after many years of being "an aeroplane has a propeller and every thing else without one is not" I bit the bullet and purchased a kit of a jet.

Italeri 1/48 Tornado IDS. I must admit I was just a tiny bit influenced by the rather attractive paint job of the 'black panther' Flying under Italian colours.

Now I had better see what I can find to "tart it up a bit".

Ian, nice choice, must say I don't know how I resisted this one when I walked past it a few times in the model shop. I still have a bit of a stock from Christmas, but would love to do another Tornado, quite fancy the forthcoming Hobby Boss Tornado ADV which is an F3. Hope you do it 'Under Construction' Cheers Derek

hi ian welcome to the jet age!! Good choice from what ive read, much better than the awful airfix tornados (go on ask me how i know!,ok then here goes) I bought the airfix 1/48 gr1on e bay cause it was the gulf war edition to go with my jaguar and buccaneer, the kit has gulf decals c/w nose art(mig eater) and some tasty looking jp233's but the kit is a pig so i might get a different kit and use the decals and stores from this one, which is why ill be watching this one closely! looking forward to seeing some pics , cheers tony

Youre wishes are fulfilled. Se under construction; or under destruction, you chose.

Tony; I was looking at an Airfix and Two from Italeri. The Airfix was about £25.50 and the Italeri £21.50 and £20. I rather liked the look of the Black panther, so I got that one. Surprise it was the cheapest of them.

Right then Im off to the constuction site!
