    question

    if you mess up a paint job and want to re-do is it better to use a sandpaper and sand it off or use a primer. remember im new sorry.

    Depends what type of paint you've used. Sanding may cause loss of detail and other damage to the model. I've removed acrylic paints by using a suitable solvent like isopropyl alcohol. I've never tried to remove an enamel paint but I don't see why a suitable solvent wouldn't work. You wouldn't want anything "hot" enough to damage the plastic.

        If/when I screw up a paint job I just respray with primer, but I usually use an airbrush so it's quite a thin coat to start with.

          There is a special model paint stripper but you can use good old brake fluid, strips just about anything but should not harm the plastic. Will need a good soapy wash afterwards though.

              You can get a standard rattle can primer from most car based hardware shops or you can get model specific, like Tamiya rattle cans from any decent model shop.
