    am imissing something, 1/48th scale

    am i missing something or am i just thick, how come lots of people seam to be refering to 1/48th scale as quarter scale, when obviously it isnt, or am i missing something, clarification would be much appreciated

    Hi Shaun

    I think this refers to 1 foot equating to a 1/4 inch - hence quarter scale.

    I think it's odd and misleading too.

        Paul is right, it comes from American terminology where everything is based in inches. In 1\12 scale dolls houses they are often referred to as 1 inch to the foot and all the divisions below so 1/48 would be quarter scale.
