As for the aeroplane type - there isn't really a choice available. There's only one which fits all of those qualities.

Without doubt it is the Westland Lysander..................

Very short take-off time and excellent control in the dark. Excels in dropping equipment during a full moon.

Bit cob looking, but is excellent in short bursts and can carry extra passengers and gear if required!!
