My wife and son have left me

.. well they will do when I drop them off at the airport tomorrow, they are going to Spain for a week and I'm home alone looking after the dogs, so I plan to finish my Mirage 2000c which shouldn't take me much longer but not sure what to do next, I want to do something where I can try Alcad chrome, I've not used it before but have read good things about it, I was thinking of doing something like a Spitfire and giving it a full chrome spray, or maybe KITT and doing a new paint job on that, so little time so much to do

Mmmm, a silver spitfire, sounds interesting. I need to know how you get on with the alclad as I will be giving it a try myself John. Have you got some stuff to clean out the AB as it is a cellulose based paint, needs the right stuff to clean up I believe.

I have some and stainless steel but not yet tried it, It's nerve wracking stuff worrying about the AB internals.

Especially considering my cheap chinese AB, I don't know if it uses Teflon needle packing but have sprayed enamels though it.

Re clean up, ordinary ROTM cellulose thinners should do the trick, most people I know who've used it use Halfords own, if you have an Autopaint nearby they do 5L containers of gunwash, which is a rough cellulose thinners for cleaning sprayguns, cheap as chips and one of those would last you an age.

I'd like to see a chrome spitfire, sonds very interesting.
