    Some help please :-)

While taking part in the GB i have really enjoyed doing some figures for the first time (1/48th).

As a result i rather fancy having a go at a Vignette. Trouble is i dont know where to start? I know the sort of subject i wish to do and that is a "Sniprer".

Does anyone know where i can obtain a really well moulded kit? Dont mind the country of the subject ie Axis or Allied, but would like WW2. Also dont mind the scale, but plenty of detail.

Does anyone recommend a good figure to start with as a begginer to figure painting, all suggestions gratefully recieved.

Also whilst on the subject...what EXACTLY is a Vignette?

    Regards Martin :-)

The term means something small. Originally it meant "something that may be written on a vine-leaf".

Vignette (literature), short, impressionistic scenes that focus on one moment or give a particular insight into a character, idea, or setting

Which is only one meaning if you look it up it covers everything from photography to road tax

Depends on what scale, if you want 1/35 then Dragon and I think ICM do sniper figures of both german and russian figures. Otherwise it`s just trawling through Possibly Verlinden web site? Good luck mate. Gareth.

              Hi Martin

These are the choices in 1/35.

I think you may be forced to convert figures in 1/48 - certainly I haven't seen any. Do you want the vignette to be 1/48 to go with your diorama?

There's also this figure from Andrea miniatures if you fancy a dip into the Resin figure market.

Hope you find what you're looking for.

              Cheers

              Paul

Hiya Paul, thanks for the info buddy, i think i will be sending off for them three kits above this week, very muck like the Andrea one but at £58 i might hold off till i try my hand at the others to see if im any good first.

It would have been nice to find a German 1/48th scale sniper for my GB dio but ive trawled the internet and have had no joy at all.

All the best mate, regards Martin :-)

Hi Martin, we must be singing of the same hymn sheet mate , I`ve just got the zvezda russian snipers and some fields of glory plaster bases for a small vignette as one part of my GB , tbh zvezda are not quite tamiya standard but with a little work should look ok , if you can afford the verlinden sniper get it mate looks a superb pose
