lol, it does. However, this Chesterfieldien considers himself Yorkshire as I spent most of my life before coming to Peterborough in Maltby, between Rotherham and Doncaster (if you take a curved path). I will always regard Yorkshire as home, the hills are in my blood.
OH NO I've been to ModelZone........!

Ahhh, yes, Maltby, know it well, and worked there for a good few years, it's now the kind of place the police stop you at the border and frisk you for weapons, if they don't find any they give you a couple :grinball2:
Yorkshires a funny place, I was born and grew up in Sheffield, but my favourite memories are of me and my dad leaving the smoke and heading for the dales, or the moors, or anywhere countryside related, (aside from making models together that is), the particularly sad thing for me is over the 30 years I lived there I saw great changes in the area and unfortunately none for the better. I know there are worse places but leaving Sheffield is not something that saddens me.Comment

Where did you work mike? I used to work at the Aven Tools site, down just past the pit. It was bought out by Sandvik and I worked for them until late 80's when I took redundancy after 27 years in engineering. The weekend camping trips with my mate to the Peak District were what (nearly) kept me sane. We used to volunteer for as many night shifts as we could so that we were able to set off Friday lunchtime and come back Sunday night ready for work Monday night. Happy days.Comment

I was at a company called Active resource on the Hellaby industrial estate, I moved with the company from Kiveton, back when it was a pleasant place to work, sadly all wasn't the same after the move due to many factors, expansion being the smallest.
I guess technically Maltby was a little stroll down the road but it was close enough for me.
Strange how things work, for a good while back then I truly thought this was a good and worthwhile pursuit, a real career to work at, yet the simplest things can make you step back and think about what you're striving for.Comment
