I never walk past a charity shop I always pop in and case the joint for all those hidden gems and I've come away with some bargains in the past although it's never been anything amazing kit wise but still lots of fun all the same Patience is the key here as I would say in my experience that you have to visit a shop a least 20 times before actually seeing something and then it's not always something that you want I've turned my nose up at many battleships in various scales in the past.

Well the other week I saw these starter kits in my local aldi and didn't buy any and today I remembered the BOB build so went back for some.to my horror there were hardly any left but bagged two mustangs and one hurricane.one of the mustangs will be done as a red tail as I have the 1/24 kit to do at some point this year.so the moral here is if you see a bargain grab it with both hands.lol

I needed some new paints so I thought I'd try these Xtracolor ones. Most of them are gloss which makes washes & decalling easier.

I'll let you know how they perform

They're really nice paints Patrick. Unfortunately we can no longer get them this side of the Atlantic because the GPO classify them as dangerous goods and won't ship them.

I'm sure I read recently that the GPO had changed the ruling on this.

I'll see if I can find the article and post on here!

Found the letter sent to a supplier of modelling paints from the GPO.

                              This is the copy.

                              '

"We have lifted the four item restriction. Customers can now send an unlimited number in any one package but the volume of each container should still not exceed 150ml.

The items must be securely closed and placed in a leak-proof liner, such as a sealed polythene bag, so that any inadvertent leakage is contained within the outer packaging. Surround with absorbent material such as newspaper and sufficient cushioning material to protect each item from damage. The sender’s name and return address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging.

The changes went live on 12 January 2015. I trust this will be a welcome decision for you."

Not sure if this includes exporting though!

                              Hope this is of help.

Thanks Gregg, I saw this too but I think it's only for domestic shipping. It's not just the British post office, the US postal service won't send enamel/lacquer paint by air either.
