These are the figures I've chosen for my Jason & The Argonauts dio.

They're from Wargames Factory and I've got to say I can't recommend these guys highly enough. Although the range of figures they do is quite small, the quality is outstanding.

First off, you get a HUGE pile of plastic for your money.

There are only two different sprues but you get seven of each type. One contains four torsos and a range of arms, the other contains a selection of heads and assorted weapons. The sprues have connecting pins so they interlock in the box. This stops them sliding across each other so delicate parts won't get caught up and damaged.

Mould quality is excellent with just a faint mould seam. The plastic is fairly hard so these seams are easily cleaned up with just a few scrapes from a blade or sanding stick. The marvellous bit is that you can use normal polystyrene cement to fix them together. No messing about with Superglue or specialist polythene adhesives. Quick, simple and clean with plenty of time to make sure the parts are correctly aligned. Please, please tell the manufacturers of those awful polythene figures - you know who they all are - to start using this type of plastic!

The number of bits you get is also impressive. There are 28 torsos, admittedly there are only four types, but there are also:

      3 different left arms

      4 different right arms

on each of the torso sprues (56 left arms and 112 right arms in total)

The other sprues each give you:

      4 different heads with helmets

      4 different heads without helmets

      4 swords

      4 swords in sheaths

      4 shields

      4 spears

      4 small pouches

2 arms with bows and 2 quivers

      4 slings (2 different sorts)

1 extra arm with a musical horn

1 extra head with a plumed helmet

1 extra arm carrying two spears

      2 different standards

Enough spare weapons to equip all 28 figures with either a sword (if they have sword in hand, just cut the sword handle off the sheath), sling, spear and/or shield - plus the options of bows, standards, horns or extra spears. As the arms and heads can be shown turned in a wide range of angles, the variety of different figures that can be built is simply enormous.

I can't comment on the accuracy of their clothing or style of weapons, but the detail is as good as any I've seen. And all for the princely sum of £17.50 including P@P.

No mate, it's just been a ' filler ' while trying to find inspiration to finish other builds!

If you have it wheels down, it won't be a problem - I've done mine in-flight & struggled to get a clean fit of the closed doors. You'll probably have no problem though.

Yes Tommy walked around three times just to make sure I hadn't missed all the bargains before I even looked at the exhibits.

Dougie the fiat is very nice and a guy offered me twice what I'd paid for it within minutes of me buying it.

Hate to say this Scott, but I wouldn't touch GW stuff with a very long barge pole - unless someone was giving them away on ebay! They're waaaaayyyyy too expensive for what they are.
