Which scale do you prefer?

Can I be a pain I agree with most that 1/48 is a convenient and great scale for armour and planes but bikes are 1/12 cars 1/24 ( pssst I like building 1/144 planes) but seriously my vote is 1/48. just think of my B2 in that scale? Nooooo 1m going for a rest in a quiet room.

As I no longer have space for 1/32, I alternate between 1/48 and 1/72. Again the 1/72 is for space saving. Cheers Derek

Because John asked us for our prefered scale I ticked the 1/35 box, however I like to build 1/72 as it is quick and easily repainted should you desire a change of colour scheme, cammo ect. and there are some very good, reasonably priced kits in this small scale.

I suggest the reason no one as yet has voted for 1/72 is although it is popular, it would not be their first choice scale.

From reading this thread it seems to me that people like to build in all sorts of scale depending on the subject.

For aircraft I like 1 24 and 1 32.

1:48 for me in Armour and thats only because running out of space, but when my daughter has gone to university then it back to 1:35 scale cause i'm having her bedroom.Have fun, John

I thought that when our youngest daughter moved out. Now we have a beautiful spare bedroom and SWMBO has a well appointed office in the other one's old room. I build my models in the front room and spray in the utility room!!

I do however most definitely have fun.

I do like to build most of my aircraft in 1/32 and there is more and more available in this scale. That's how I voted. I do however build large aircraft (Lancaster,B-17) in 1/48 and have even had a bash at 1/72 as in the BOB memorial flight or my go at a desert dio. The little'uns wouldn't be my first choice. How some of you do 1/144 (that'll be you Tony) I have no idea.

Sorry john, i cant vote on this one, i just cant pick a preferred scale!! I tend to do anything if it takes my fancy,whatever the scale , although i have to say there is quite a strong case for the1/72 and 1/76 kits simply on the basis that they can be quite cheap and good value,take for example the academy kits and the revell re-issues of the matchbox armour kits,and they dont take up as much room too! Looks like 1/48 will prove to be most popular ,due to the ideal compromise between size and detail, so no chance of you stocking the sweet range of 1/144 kits then john LOL!!? cheers tony
