Just had a stroll round the Airfix/Hornby/Scalextric etc., etc., factory with my grandson. They have a visitor centre showing the various makes thorugh the years.
Anyway, new tool 1/48th stuff will include:
Me 109 Tropical
Junkers 87b
Spitfires 1, 1a, IIa, XII
Seafire Mk XVII
Sea Vixen
Pre-production kits show the VIxen as a lovely well detailed and surprisingly large model and the Seafire can be built with wings extended or folded in two places with lots of armament options.
Apparently they plan to release more in the future, as they see a market for this scale, it being big enough to see but not too big to collect.
If they come up like Graham's (Fenlander) who knows, it may be a signal for me to move scale.
Peter
P.s. Is £35 good for a 1/24 Hurricane?
They have about 7 or 8 kits in a corner there and the others are a tenner more.
Local model shops had a hissy fit when Airfix said they'd mark down prioces at the factory, so I'm not sure if it's a good deal.
