Interesting to see the amount of vibration that is apparent in the shots when the guns are going off.

I'm amazed how the fighters ignored their own flak,there must have been "friendly" fire incidents.

It also confirms what I already knew,most pilots blazed away out of effective range or fired a short hurried burst and broke away. Look how many completely misjudged their angles ,particularly when attempting a "curve of attack". A few got in really close and made a determined and lethal attack. This applies to all sides,not just the Germans.

I'm always amazed at the footage from the Luftwaffe aircraft. Shame more of it did not survive. Also notice how they take the gunners out at long distance then move in for the 'kill'. Very professional

Head on attacks were a speciality of some units as they were less exposed to return fire (and had heavy armour and a big radial engine infront of them in their Fw190s). They are devastating but look how little time they get to fire! There are a couple of sequences in that footage which must have ended badly for the men in the cockpits of the Liberators.
