Fighter aircraft collection, new magazine (part work style)

Picked up issue 1 today, link here for those who haven't seen the ad.

Fighter Aircraft 'Magazine Collection' TV ad - 20 sec advert

Comes with a 1/72 scale Spitfire Mk Vb, for a die cast it's pretty good and reasonably accurate, (to my untrained eye), i'd say these would even stand a decent amount of little boy playing type abuse, (though I won't be letting my little biy try that theory)

Magazines pretty decent, some nice photo's and a good internal cockpit shot.

First ten are, (presumably in order)

    Spitfire 1.99

    BF109 3.99

    Mustang 4.99 onwards

    Harrier

    Fokker triplane

    Hurricane

    MiG-15

    Sopwith Camel

    Zero

    F-104 Starfighter

Comment in the mag which tickled me:

The list of names suggested for the new machine included, Serpent, Shark and Shrike, when R.J. Mitchell heard they'd named it Spitfire he commented,

'just the sort of bloody silly name they would give it'

Some pics of the model here.

Last pic shows the Spitfire next to my 1/72 Airfix FW190

Heres the next in the series, a BF109F.

Again 1/72 scale, not great, like the spit but quite a nice display piece.

I saw the advert and wondered how good they were. Thanks for taking the time to tell us and put up the pictures. I think in line with most die cast models the detail is a bit heavy but it does look pretty good overall. I'd love to try a wash as well but I suspect that the heavy scribing would make the wash look like too much as well. Let's see who is brave enough to try it and see how it comes out!
